Molysulfide
Climax, founded in 1916, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (FCX). As a world-leading molybdenum producer and supplier, it operates primary and by-product molybdenum mines globally, with processing plants in the United States, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. With a 98% content of MoS₂, Molysulfide® is an international trademark registered by Climax since 1961. It is widely used in lubricating oils, greases, pastes, dispersions, wear-resistant and friction-reducing coatings, as well as lubricant additives for nylon / Teflon, etc. It’s available in three grades: Technical Grade, Technical Fine Grade and Superfine Grade. *The acid value listed is the value at production. Prolonged storage may cause slight oxidation, leading to an increase in acid value. Smaller particle sizes are more prone to surface oxidation. Acid value represents an absolute value, defined as the milligrams of potassium hydroxide required to neutralize the acid in one gram of the sample.
