Solid Lubricant

Solid lubricants deliver friction reduction and surface protection in the form of solid powders or thin films. Typical varieties include molybdenum disulfide, graphite and boron nitride, suitable for extreme operating conditions where oil and grease cannot perform adequately. During friction, they form dense lubricating layers on workpiece surfaces to lower friction coefficients and mitigate component wear. They feature excellent resistance to high temperatures and pressures, outstanding load-bearing capacity and stable performance at low speeds. Beyond lubrication for mechanical transmission, they are also widely applied in demoulding processes such as die casting, injection moulding and forging to separate moulds from workpieces and avoid adhesion.

Molysulfide

Climax, founded in 1916, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (FCX). As a world-leading molybdenum producer and supplier, it operates primary and by-product molybdenum mines globally, with processing plants in the United States, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. With a 98% content of MoS₂, Molysulfide® is an international trademark registered by Climax since 1961. It is widely used in lubricating oils, greases, pastes, dispersions, wear-resistant and friction-reducing coatings, as well as lubricant additives for nylon / Teflon, etc. Shanghai Canal International Trade Co.,Ltd is a primary distributor of Climax with over ten years of partnership, serving customers with diverse lubrication requirements.
